Senior Thesis Reflection

The Senior Thesis Capstone Project provided for a great learning experience in relation to both past and current academics as well as interaction with industry professionals.  Throughout the fall semester, information was gathered that helped establish a strong background of this construction project.  The knowledge gathered was then able to be incorporated into my own personal interests and experience, providing a strong basis for the research carried out during the spring semester.  Four analysis were performed which required guidance and assistance from members of the architectural engineering faculty, industry professionals, and several of my fellow students.  The experience gained required some of the most intensive research of my academic career and a full-time commitment, but was a very rewarding experience expanding my understanding of the construction industry.

CPEP Reflection

Creating a Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio was a unique learning experience associated with thesis.  The news box on the homepage became a useful tool for tracking my progress throughout the course as major milestones were quickly approaching and passing by.  Documenting all relevant information on this page became a very useful tool for easy access to previous assignments throughout both the fall and spring semester.  I hope that this will become a valuable learning tool for future students to refer to as they strive to attain an architectural engineering degree.  This has become a representation of myself personally which can also show my family and friends what I have accomplished in my final year at The Pennsylvania State University.
